Web Page Design I provides opportunities for students to create and design a multi-page website, ultimately to be viewed online. The course focuses on developing an understanding of HTML5 and CSS3 so as to unlock the expressive and graphic potential of our websites. Students will create original layouts and graphics, explore the basics of typography, and are introduced to writing HTML and CSS code. Students will learn the creative process, best practices for website management, and even animation. Students will participate in self, peer, and group critiques.

Students of Advanced Web Page Design will work more independently and will be expected to create at least two websites utilizing HTML5 and CSS3. A main focus of the course will be the development of websites for mobile devices. Students will learn to build responsive websites for mobile devices using the popular CSS framework Bootstrap. Projects will emphasize page design and user experience. Projects will be either assignment-based or independent depending on the interests of the students.
